PROJECT ENDED 2004
Earth Oven Workshop 2004

Abstract : A hands on, training workshop to build earthen bread/pizza ovens from start to finish.

The goal of this project is to empower people who are interested in building with the knowledge and experience they need to begin doing so in an ecological fashion. At the same time a bread oven is a good way to keep culture and community together and when the ovens are ready, wholesome flavours are sure to marinate the air!

This years workshop was a success! Click here to see our photo gallery and thank you to everyone who participated.

Workshop Information

There will be only one workshop this season and it will be held on a tree nursery in the town of St-Jean Baptiste, Quebec.
About: The workshop will cover the foundation, oven basics and roof in theory. We will be building a portable oven together out of an earth mixture called "cob".
When: Sunday the 5th of September from 9:30AM to approximately 5PM.
Cost: A fee of $20 will help cover material costs and any extra monies will go to Community Earth.
Other Info: The workshop will be given by Ivan Tattoli in French & English. We will stop to eat a potluck picnic lunch around 1PM.
Availability: We are sorry to announce that all places are taken. If you are interested in such future courses you can reserve a place for next year by contacting Ivan at 1-450-795-0109.
