Future Project Ideas
Ideas are gifts. Ideas are fun. Ideas are most powerful when acted upon. Here members and non-members alike can share ideas that they feel Community Earth should take on. Your project ideas are always welcome and will be published in the table below if you fill out the form which can be found at the bottom of the page.
This table consists of the year the project was proposed, the names of the persons who proposed the idea, the sphere in which the project covers - global or local, a name given to the project for reference purposes and the description of the project proposed. The description should be as short as possible but with enough information to understand the basics of the idea and get the imagination of others flowing.
In order for a project to be adopted by Community Earth Organization, a global or local forum must be started using the Voting Sphere. Once a project is adopted by Community Earth Organization it will be removed from this table and added to our current projects page.

Ivan Tattoli, Yan Gordon |
Artist Support |
Global |
Encourage the electronic means of distributing media (esp.) songs and at the same time support the creators of the content directly. This project would post information for programs, music, books etc…that are copied currently for free with a way of supporting the bands/writer/programmer with funds directly…cutting out the middlemen and big business since electronically they do not contribute anything but publicity. It would probably get more acceptance from the general public about downloading media for next to nothing because at least the artist is getting his share. Of course this is still an honesty issue, but at least there is recourse for the honest user to take without having to support the greedy publisher or distribution giants. |

Home Compost Collection |
Local |
Collect organic material (twice a month?) from homes then compost it. The compost can then be used to improve soil quality in damaged areas and/or to donate to members or projects that may need it. Local use should be given priority. (Yan had already started a similar project with Eco-Cartier in 2003 but the city of Montreal hasn't fully accept it yet) |
| 2002 |
Patrice Pinel, Robert Minguez |
Energy Savings |
Local |
Informing people in industry and offices to turn their lights and equipment off. Calculate the savings for them to see what they can do with it (a party etc.). Slogan “Maybe we can some day see the stars in a city again!” |
| 2002 |
Robert Minguez |
Toilet Change |
Local |
Manufacture and/or promote water reducing toilets – like those in France that have flushers with 2 settings, one for #1 and the other for #2's, which uses slightly more water but much less than current North American style toilets. |
| 2001 |
Phillipe (Unknown), Ivan Tattoli |
Community Farm |
Local |
A large farming community outside of Montreal to grow food for Community Earth members and embark on sustainable ecological agricultural practices. |
| 2001 |
Patrice Pinel, Ivan Tattoli |
Yellow Bikes Everywhere |
Local |
An open sharing community bicycle program that allows for free transport & leisure for anyone within the area or city. Persons use bikes when found unused and leave them on public property when done so that others can use them too. A large part of this project would be repairing bicycles, informing the public of its existence and finding a way to inhibit the stealing of such open shared goods. |
| 2001 |
Jennifer O'Brien |
Spring Cleanings |
Local |
Picking up garbage from "dirty" areas and within subway stations and recycle as much of it as possible. We could do it every year in April. This project would give neighbourhoods environmental awareness, the greater community a chance to participate and would put Community Earth in the public eye. |

Commercial Recycling |
Local |
Setting up a distribution of recycling boxes within commercial buildings and offices and picking the recycled goods up once a week. |
