All About Our Logo

The logo work began in December of 2001 and ended in January 2002 with the finalized version as seen below. It was created and drawn by artist, Robert Mingues, who kindly volunteered his hours before the Service Co-operative was available.

OUR LOGO

The concept of the logo comes from the words "community" & "earth" respectively. The image represents 5 figures standing together in a circular pattern supporting each other.

The different colours used for the figures, represents Community Earths greatest strength: our diversity, a borderless community with a multi-cultural spirit and openess to creative problem solving. These figures furthermore represent the five original and crucial parts of Community Earth; Service Co-operative, Resourcary, Voting Sphere, Projects Sphere & Quality Control.

This version of the logo was chosen for its liveliness. The figures are fluid looking and appear to be moving, giving the impression of a dance: a signal of happiness and hope. By interlocking arms with their neighbors and standing together in a circle a symbol of unity emerges, not unlike the musketeer slogan "all for one and one for all". The overall circular feel also gives a sense of symbiosis with the earth. A befitting image for a border free, self-supporting "Community Earth".

Thank you Robert Mingues!
