Website and E-mail Information
What is a POP Mailbox?
POP stands for "Post Office Protocol". This is the most standard type of e-mail account used on the internet. When e-mail arrives it is stored on a server. To check the e-mail you punch in your username and password and the stored messages are downloaded to your e-mail software (ie. Outlook, Eudora). The servers we use keep e-mail for up to 45 days before they are deleted from the system.
Can I check my e-mail from any computer?
Yes. The service is called webmail. This is useful when travelling or when you are not with a steady internet provider. However, please be aware that e-mails stored longer than 45 days will be erased. If using this method to check your e-mails you can always download or save the messages that you want to keep or are important onto your own computer or a diskette.
How do I check my e-mails using webmail?
First go to http://webmail.pzinternet.com/index.cgi
Once there you type in your full e-mail address (ei. yourname@communityearth.org)
Press tab and then type your e-mail password.
Then click on the enter button. Its that simple!
Where do I sign-up?
Just send a message to ivan@communityearth.org and ask for an e-mail account. If there are none available your name will go on a waiting list and you will be contacted when our site expands or if and when we have our own server. As of March 2008, there are 10 remaining e-mail accounts.
If there is an available e-mail account the postmaster will telephone you and ask for a username and a password to start you off. Within the hour you will have an account. We will expect payment within 30 days. Failure in doing so will cause your account to be deleted. You can send cash, cheque or money order made out to Community Earth Organization in the amount of ten dollars to our international address. Funds in Cdn dollars are recommended but not mandatory.
Once I am registered as a new user, what changes do I need to make in order to receive e-mail at home?
In order to start downloading messages you need to configure your e-mail program settings. Open this program and find the settings or e-mail configuration tabs. Some of the most common e-mail programs and how to get into their configuration settings is listed below.
Eudora:Go to TOOLS, then OPTIONS, to get into the email settings area.
Microsoft Outlook:Go to TOOLS, then ACCOUNTS, then click MAIL TAB to get into the email settings area.
Netscape Mail:Go to EDIT, then PREFERENCES, then Mail & Groups, then mail servers to get into the email settings area.
Once there, you can change your settings as shown in the table below. The fictional e-mail address is obviously replaced by your own.

Who hosts the Community Earth Organization website?
We use PZinternet for our web hosting. We are very happy with their service and recommend them.
Who manages the website?
Our webmaster is currently Ivan Tattoli (Please, please...take this duty away from me!) The e-mail address is ivan@communityearth.org. You can forward all website suggestions, world links to add or problems concerning the site to that address.
Is there an index of all the pages on this website?
Yes. You can browse it by clicking here.
About the future website
The website will expand as new offices are added but the international pages should stay relatively simple.
New offices can use our site to expand on or can host their own servers and we will create links to the appropriate pages. Once the databases for the Resourcary, Service Co-operative, Profiles & Voting Sphere are made and connected to the site Community Earth will be ready to expand and prove that alternative systems can work while improving life.
Future e-mail accounts may be given free to members if we have our own servers. If at that point a member already has an e-mail account with us those members will be given the first chance to be part of it.
